So Obsessed Saturday: High Top Converse…Converse in General

HighTopConverse  Perhaps one of my favorite purchases of recent, or of all time are my high top white converse. Now I know I am by no means a fashion blogger, but I am a blogger of obsessions and this is definitely one of mine. Generally speaking, converse are awesome, they are the perfect way to add edge to an outfit or to dress it down.

I had been thinking of grabbing a pair of high tops for myself for a while, considering my black normal ones had trekked all across Europe and looked as such. So I finally splurged about two weeks ago (well maybe not splurge, but 55$ to a college student is a bit of a splurge) and got them! Needless to say I have been quite obsessed. I have worn them almost every other day, now if I didn’t see the same people everyday, I probably would’ve worn them everyday but I figured that it might be a little much.

This has made my getting ready in the morning, far simpler, considering I am usually a hot mess after practice and looking ‘presentable’ for class is often a struggle. My new go to outfit, is my converse with leggings and oversized tshirt. (Essentially the northern girls version of the southern school typical huge tshirt and running shorts, because there is more snow that sun around here. They are also great because you can wear leggings or crop pants with them. Although this post didn’t have much advice in fashion or in life, I just wanted to share my excitement over a pair shoes, something that rarely happens 🙂

Throwback Thursday: Trends The Need to Come Back

As I look over this list once again of what should most definitely make a come back, I realize that nearly all of these trends are from 80’s and 90’s but I am so ok with that

Leg warmers: I have loved these forever and love how they are coming back in style, LegWarmsHeels2usually being worn with boots, but I love them almost more when you can pull them off with heels.

Chokers: I love how these look and can give either a edgy or classy addition to any outfit depending on the one you choose. You can also be very creative with how you choker1style them, I love the look of them with layered necklaces at varied lengths!

Windbreakers: Functional and they honestly just look pretty cool with bright colors and being a little oversized on the wearer makes them even more comfy, as well as the athletic vintage feel that they can add to your outfit. And even though most are  pretty out there with the colors you can always choose a more low-key style!

Scrunches: Obsessed. They look so good especially with a high pony and add an adorable feel with a bit of high fashion.scrunche

Accent Braids: I find these so dainty and adorable, as well as the fact that they can AccentBraid1make your hairstyle seem either whimsical by mixing them in underneath, or a little rocker edgy by doing it in a French braid style closer to your head.

Anything you want to add to the list?!

Beauty Blogger Tag

Wow…I have really been off my A game this week… and for that I really apologize, but hey i typed this with both my hands this time so thats a plus! (if that doesn’t make sense check out this post and then continue to read and all will be understood. LOL)

However I have given a peak inside my soul with the Beauty Blogger Tag, with a big thanks to Ryane Zamora Beauty for the tag! I had so much fun answering these questions and can’t wait to hear my nominees responses!

Break Up Boss

  1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?
Pin straight, as in I can’t even curl it. But I shouldn’t complain!
  2. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?
 My hair is completely natural.
  3. Do you wear the same style everyday, or do you change it?
Depends, with my hair being so light it tends to look a little greasy sometimes but it is not good to wash it everyday so on those days I usually just wear it high in a bun.
  4. Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?
I usually do my own, but perhaps once or twice a year I get them done, ya know college student on a budget.
  5. How often do you change your nail polish?
During swim season probably once a week before weekend meets because it chips so much in the pool. But in offseason, kind of just of whenever I feel like it!
  6. Do you polish your toes in the winter or just the summer?
All year round!
  7. How long does it take for you to put on makeup?
Only about 10 to 15 minutes, I don’t do much even when I am going for a night out.
  8. What do you do first? Face or eyes?
Always eyes because one makeup tip that I have always remembered is how eye makeup can fall onto the rest of your face making it harder to take off if you have already done your face!
  9. Do you collect makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?
I usually just buy what I need. Something I do collect though is nail polish, which I also consider to be make up. (:
  10. How often do you wear false eyelashes?
 Never have…maybe will?
  11. Do you do a full face of makeup everyday?
Not really. I mean I wear a tinted moisturizer nearly everyday and some powder and mascara on my eyes, so technically my full face is covered but I wouldn’t say its anything to intense…Lol
  12. Do you wear makeup when you’re home alone or with family? Not really…
  13. Will you leave the house without makeup?
 Oh most definitely…no shame J
  14. How many high-end products do you have?
I think the only technically high end product that I have is my Naked 2 Eye shadow palette. I often don’t find myself needing anything too high-end.
  15. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you’re getting dressed?
Usually just in the morning as I’m getting ready unless I have a big presentation or a reason to dress up the next day.
  16. How often do you change your handbag?
Well at school I just use the same backpack everyday, but I also only really have to purses or hand bags that I would really use so it just depends on the outfit.
  17. What time do you wake up and go to sleep?
Well it all depends on the time of year. During swim season I wake up anywhere from 5am to 5:30am depending on the day. On Sundays we can sleep in until our hearts desire. During off-season we only practice twice a week, which I wake up at 5:30 for. When I don’t have practice I usually wake up around 8:45 unless I am going to go to the gym to workout, then I will get up around 7:15.
  18. How often or when do you workout I try to workout everyday, but since I just had surgery I have had to scale it back a little. I often workout in the afternoon, sometimes the morning depends on that day! During swim season though I swim/lift once or twice a day so that is all the working out I really need in my schedule!
  19. Left handed or right handed?
  20. How tall are you?
I’m about 5’9!
  21. Do you speak any foreign languages?
Unfortunately no but I really wish I did!
  22. How many pets do you have?
One. The love of my life Murphy Bartus Quinn (Read all about him 🙂
  23. How often are you on Blogger?
I am on WordPress at least once a day 🙂
  24. Do you read comments posted on blogs?
Most definitely I love hearing what yall have to say!
  25. Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?
Yes! Sometimes I forget to actually get them but its thought that counts!
  26. How did you come up with your blog name?
Well I knew what I wanted my blog to be about, essentially its for people who find themselves in between a girly girl and a tom boy because that’s where I find myself. So I figure I’m kind of like a princess but without a tutu…
  27. What kind of camera do you use for your photographs? My iphone4!
  28. How often do you clean your house?
Well my dorm I try to keep fairly tidy but I probably do a real good clean every two weeks!
  29. What’s your favorite color?
tie dye…does that count…I’m making it count.
  30. Do you swear? Not very often but I guess it depends on the situation. I really try not to.
  31. What are you doing with the rest of your day?
Well I have to attend an extra credit ballet for my music class and then do some homework…and probably grab some dinner! Hopefully get the chance to write a blog post 🙂

4 Princess Must Haves For Spring

Going to school in the unbelievably cold North, I find the coming of Spring to be quite the reason to celebrate. I just love being outside and can’t wait to soak up all the sun! One of the best parts of changing seasons, however, is getting to bring out new clothes, which sometimes even constitutes a little shopping.

Although I wouldn’t say I am completely fashion savvy, I don’t think that is any reason that I can’t still have fun with it. I used to think that in order for me to comment or write about something I had to be an expert about it, but as I have grown I don’t think that is the case. If you want to dabble in fashion go ahead! Who says you have to commit all the way! and besides what fun is sticking to only the things you are expert at, there’s a whole world to explore so explore it!

Wow that took quite a tangent… but oh well! (: Anyways back to the topic at hand! Here is what I have gathered as 4 essentials for this spring!

4. Florals

Like this super cute floral dress from Forever21, not only are they fun and flirty but, they  mix up from just a solid color.

3. Long Coats

I love this style of coat because it is a great business and yet classy coat.  And this coat is perfect because it isn’t too heavy but just enough for when it gets cool at night! (Plus it makes you look a little fancier even if you aren’t trying that hard!

2. Romper

It took a bit but fully body rompers/jumpsuits have definitely grown on me. this one I found at she

Also from but I think the pattern is adorable and very spring!

Rompers are basically the ultimate princesswithoutthetutu look. they are essentially a fashionable way to still be able to run around and not worry about flossing anybody! Not only do they come in just about any shape and size, but they are a great swap for anyone who is into all the dress frills.

Here are even more samples on how to rock converse everyday!

Now I have had these around forever, but they are definitely making a come back! I have a pink and black pair, but am on the lookout for another color, maybe even some high tops! I love how not only do they work with any bottoms, but they are so comfortable. I mean whats better than being comfortable and still looking super cute?!

What are your favorite looks for spring?

3 Easy Ways to Have a Fancy Friday

This morning my mother texted me saying have a fancy friday. Now I go to school in a valley and it currently snowing (On the first day of spring, what a treat!). But I figured hey! any top notch princess can make herself fancy even in the snow! So here’s a few ways to make your Friday a littler fancier (:

1.) Add a little glamour to your outfit with a statement necklace! Even with leggings, boots and a t-shirt adding a statement necklace can take your outfit from a slight lounge look to super fab!

Some of these are bit more glamour than others, but that is the great thing about accessorizing you can go as dressy or casual dress as you like whether it's to class or work!

2.) Patterns are a great way to give your outfit a little extra something. They make some noise for the amount of effort you put into your outfit, and they can be so easy to wear! For example, try a patterned shift dress or even patterned leggings with high boots. This can be tastefully done in the cold and still give you some look good confidence to take on your day!

These leggings alone make a big statement, but the other playful colors bring down the statement but still make a well put together outfit!

3.) Look good – Feel Good – Do Good! Confidence is key! The best way to have a fancy feel good day is to wake up, look in the mirror, and tell yourself that you are ready to rock the world even if it’s in a little way such as rocking a test or even thinking up a great new idea!

Hope you have a killer Friday princess!

Glitter and Glam at the Grammys

The Grammys are a showcase of fashion all their own. Half of the show is the outfits that make their way across the red carpet. Now being as glitter obsessed as I am, I am always looking out for the top outfits of the night. Although some made some great cases for sparkle, I have to say I was fairly disappointed in the overall case made for sparkle and shine, however I have included my top bottom and two of the night below!

In the case of Kim Kardashian, I appreciate her effort to bring a little pizazz however her overriding cleavage takes the class away from the outfit. Although I am not the biggest Kardashian fan, I do like to give them credit when it comes to style. Sorry Kim, think you should have covered a little more and let the mystery speak for itself!

Nicki Minaj had a step up from Kim Kardashian simply because of her slightly more conservative look. Also she did a great job of picking a color that was slightly off the status quo of classic sparkle which is usually sticks to the hues of silver and gold. I personally could have done without the fringed bottom, however it totally screams Nicki’s over the top and unexpected personality.

Rita Ora had another glitter hit this past weekend with her head to silver and white shimmer. It not only compliments her shape very well but screams elegance. She really knows how we glitter girls do.

Katy Perry gets the top rating for this years Grammy glitz. She showed off a great mix of good taste and fun in her Grammy’s outfit, and not only because she rocked the glitter from head to toe. She used a classy dress and simple belt to help compliment her amazing shape without showing to much skin, but the nude color of the dress upped the sexy factor making it edgy enough to be a Grammy top outfit.
